Forty eight years ago, in 1976, Ted Juracsik introduced his first Anti-Reverse Tarpon Reel designated the Billy Pate. This Tibor series continues today and includes three Anti-Reverse models, for rod weights 6-12. We have a two Bonefish Anti Reverse models in stock which suit 7-9 wt. and a LH Tarpon model which suits 10-12wt.
No other reel has matched the Billy Pate’s durability and dependability day in day out, year after year, regardless of conditions, location or species. This precision piece of equipment is designed and constructed to withstand the most demanding fly fishing environments. As with all reels that leave Ted’s shop, the Billy Pate is virtually maintenance free. This is a reel for life and to then hand on to the next angler. It is not fashionable, but it does look cool, it has style and longevity. It is not a large arbor reel, so you do have to wind fast.

Ted says reels should survive the drop test. Drop it on a rock and it will keep working just the same. We believe these will do that and more.

Lamson Liquid Reels. When Waterworks started creating Liquid they focused purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer. Structurally you can do things with casting that you can’t machine, such as full radiused compound curves, near zero-radius inside corners, and for precise fit and finish you can go back and machine the cast part in critical areas amplifying the best aspects of the process. Waterworks pushed back on other boundaries as well. How much of a reel at this price can be made in the U.S.? Quite a lot as it turns out, and it’s a good mix. The high quality castings are imported, but the components critical to the drag system are CNC-machined in the U.S. Liquid reels are assembled in Boise alongside the highest priced reels. No other low priced reel can boast as much U.S. content and quality. Nudging out a worthy old war horse like Konic wasn’t easy. It took a blank sheet of paper and sharp electrons.
