Abel is a premium, American, fishing company. Established in 1980, it employs approximately 50 people worldwide. It is headquartered in Montrose, Colorado, home to its precision manufacturing facility and research & development lab. Abel products meet the highest standards in quality, design

Abel has written its way into history by making gear for the world’s top guides and fishing lodges, winning more IGFA world records and industry design awards than any other fly tackle manufacturer in the world.

products in the United States by choice. No exceptions. The simple reason is quality. At Abel, we craft every product from start to finish in house.
Our products are manufactured only from the finest grades of aluminum, stainless steel and other exotic materials on precision Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machinery used for aerospace and medical devices. We hold the closest tolerances in the industry, resulting in products that last a
lifetime.

To produce our high quality products, we precision machine 100% of our parts in-house. We used advanced, proprietary machining processes and finishing methods. The entire production line, from the inception of a new product, through to its design, prototyping, testing, iterating and all the way to the final product, happens in our R&D lab.
