Dear , I would like to thank you for your past business and let you
know what is happening here.
We are open, but cautious
We are open, but very cautious about how we are operating. We are doing our best to retain staff and ask for your support. You can shop safely in store - or online. Everything in our store is also in our online store, but feel free to phone and order that way.
Our hours have reduced to Winter hours. If directed by Authorities, we will close the shop front immediately. The online shop is open 24 hours a day.
We rarely have many people in the shop at any one time, and for the near future we are sure we will have very low visitation. Visit us with confidence as we are wiping down and sanitising constantly. If there are people in the shop wait until they go, or phone us for anything and we - or Australia Post will
deliver.
Essential Flyfisher is very well stocked, so please think about a new purchase - or layby something at current prices if you don't want a big outlay; You can do that over the phone easily.
Regular Shipping is now FREE on all items. Express is $15 or FREE over $150 purchase. Everything we ship is tracked and must be signed for. We would appreciate if you can submit reasonable orders though as shipping a couple of spools of thread is costly.
Prices will rise, so you can save by shopping now
We are not increasing prices on current stock, but prices will rise when things are back to 'normal' as the Australian dollar drops. At the moment there will be a 20% rise in prices just on what the Aust dollar has don in a week. The dollar will probably keep dropping - maybe below 50 cents relative to the US dollar. If that happens the top flight rods will be $2000 for the first
time.
Stay safe and keep fishing
So whilst the world is in serious trouble you can seek some normality, space and stress relief pursuing fish. You may find even more space around you than normal as visitors have completely stopped coming to Tasmania.
Practice all the recommended protocols, but fishing is a very low risk activity and easy to keep your distance from other - and usually the fish.
The fishing is good, enjoy it, but be restrained
There is plenty of good fishing at the moment. In the last week Mike, Jules and Allan have all had some great stream, lake and saltwater fishing.
I was going to do a post with pictures of fish, clearance stock and some specials, however I think we should all be realistic about the World crisis and act appropriately and restrained. Of course you can be positive, but be a realist.
Please care for, and about, people around you. Many outstanding employees have lost their jobs. Importantly, call your friends for a chat.
Mike, Jules and Allan.
