This is a little bit tricky from Sage and what a joy. Now you can go dull matt Tactical Green or Electric Teal.
Sage dropped these on the market with no fanfare or press releases.
It caught most people by surprise - and what a lovely surprise it was.
Glossy rods have always been a bone of contention for some, but not any more with Tactical Green.
Likewise some like some bling and now there is Electric Teal.
Gloss black is still available.

Combo Bargains
We have a few combos we would like to clear including some 6 weights and some 8 weights.
The 6s are perfect for lakes and larger rivers when throwing wets and larger dries, whilst the 8 weights are great saltwater outfits.
All come ready to fish, spooled up with lines and backing.
The first combos are Orvis #6 weight Encounters (above to the left) and we only have two of each. Both combos are #6 weights and there is a 9' and 9'6" version.

There are two 8 weight outfits - an Airflo Trucast rod with Redington Behemoth reel and line, and also a Redington Path rod with Redington Behemoth reel.

The Mirage LT has all the technology of the original Mirage Reels, but in a design that is one of the lightest in the industry and it is made in USA.
HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM THE STANDARD MIRAGE?
The frame and spool design has been re-engineered, removing material where it was not needed, but keeping material where less might sacrifice the long-term durability and structural integrity of the reel. Because the extreme high end max drag range of the standard Mirage is not needed, the number of drag surfaces were reduced from 14 in the standard model to 8 in the LT. And, reducing the width of the reel reduced weight and made the reel much more appropriate on lighter rods. The reel
foot was ported to further decrease weight without reducing meaningful strength.
To make both the line-in and line-out tension lighter, we reduced the number of drag seals from 12 on the original (which is a redundant system, a “belt and suspenders” approach) to 6 drag seals. The reel still offers a completely sealed design, but it is more appropriate for the less extreme conditions seen in freshwater and light saltwater fly fishing.

When you have more lines than reels here is a simple and cost effective solution. This is especially useful when using different sink rate lines to try and find where the fish are. Cassette reels means you can change line quickly without removing your reel.
Keep the butt section of your leader at least as long as your rod to the first fly. Then simply wind the leader back to the reel, snip it at the knot, remove the spool and tie it to the new line, pull the leader and flies back out and be fishing again in a minute or so.
This is how all competition fly fishers operate.
We think this is one of the best value cassette reels on the market. This is a cast alloy reel of just under 96mm in diameter and 40mm wide. It will fit plenty of backing and line. Comes with three extra spools for four in total. So you can load this up with different weight lines to use on different outfits or perhaps several sink rate lines. Spools can be swapped over in a few seconds. It is so easy.
