Hi ,we get excited when buying rods for stock. Sometimes we buy too many, so check out these bargains - and the GLoomis NRX - not cheap, but truly outstanding.

Airflo Blade - a rocket 10' #6 weight combo.

This rod is a rocket and if you don't like fast powerful rods forget it. This will throw a line into the next postcode and is especially suited to lake fishing from a boat. Tie on two or three big flies and send them out on a floating or sinking line.

The Airflo Blade series of rods is the top end of the Airflo range designed by Rene Vaz specifically for NZ and Australian markets. Continuing the tradition of the premium Airflo range the Blade series is a lightweight, fast action, high modulus weapon that is finished with the same high end componentry that you would find on a $1,000 rod. The stability and power of the rod enables tight loops and an action that will work for you from short to very long ranges.

The Blade 10' #6 is also an amazing boat rod rigged with quality alloy reel, backing and Airflo line - either floating or sinking. It is incredible how much difference a 10' rod makes in a boat. GLoomis NRX LP

GLoomis has some outstanding lure and fly rods, but we do not see as much of them as we should.

Under the ownership of Shimano, the parent company, they seem to have let the fly rods hide from view, despite their outstanding performance. World Champion caster and GLoomis rod designer Steve Rajeff has built a couple of absolute crackers. The first is the GLoomis NRX LP 9’ #5 weight. What a beautiful rod this is. Yellowstone Angler said ‘The best 5-weight rod at any price, bar none.’ Yellowstone Angler do very comprehensive fly rod shootouts and the NRX LP won best #5 weight four consecutive times. Performance to 65 feet is outstanding and it is one of Steve Rajeff’s finest achievements. We two in stock at the moment. I love this rod with Scientific Anglers MPX and Infinity lines.
