Fly Lines
Scientific Anglers Amplitude
Without doubt Scientific Angler fly lines make some of the best fly lines ever made. They lead the way with their new AST Plus Amplitude MPX and just released, Trout taper lines. The MPX and Trout are great tapers, but with the super slippery AST Plus formula and textured coating they simple 'fly'. Compare these with anything on the market and I believe you will cast further. We have test lines in store at Essential Flyfisher.
They have many other lines of course and their new Sonar "Stillwater" sinking lines released at this years IFTD show have been 3 years in the making. Working closely with some of the United Kingdom's best still water anglers and Tasmania's own Christopher Bassano in the development stages to ensure climate and performance lived up to Scientific Anglers performance and durability standards. The new Still water range consists of the following models, Hover, Clear Camo Intermediate, Clear Midge Tip, Seamless Density sink1/sink3, sink3/sink5, sink5/sink7, Parabolic sink sink3/sink5/sink3. This new range is ideal for the Tasmanian fly angler for fishing every inch of the water column.
Andrew Summers, the Australian Distributor, through his company, Mayfly Tackle will present an overview of the new lines to anglers.

Tonic Polaroids
Tonic Polaroids
Doug Phillips has been around a while. His hair is thinning and wrinkles growing, and that is why we haven't shown his hair. However, he is the guru when it comes to polaroids for fishing and no one I have met knows more. A conversation with Doug calls for a coffee, feet up and 30 minutes put aside.
Now the owner of Tonic Sunglasses, Doug is in Launceston and will give a talk on what is new in polaroids, but also explain what to look for when buying a new pair.
Doug will also explain prescription polaroids and how to ensure you get a pair to suit.
