Fishing with fibreglass is fun and with these rods it is not big bucks. These 3pc Primal fibreglass fly rods were made just for Essential Flyfisher are here to satisfy that bendy stick urge when you've had your fast action fix. After all, no good things happen quickly and slowing down is a super way to enjoy small streams. Fibreglass is tough and can take abuse that would have modern graphite broken into many pieces. Perfect for scrub bashing creeks, for bendy under the kayak antics and
kids that just want to have fun.
These are serious rods though that will deliver the shortest cast with delicacy and medium casts with finesse.
Quality alloy reel seat with exotic wood insert
Silicon carbide stripper guides
Titanium coated single foot guides
Comes complete with Cordura rod tube and cloth bags
#3 weight combo/outfit
The 6'6" #3 weight combo has a Flylab reel, backing, #3 weight line and leader, plus cordura rod tube with combined value of $559. This is the perfect sneaky creek rod and is perfect under the willows. Whether you are casting ten feet or thirty this is a great outfit. It is almost impossible to break and throws super bow and arrow casts into impossible places. It is super value at $395 when you consider the rod alone was $295. All you have to do is add a fly. By the way, this includes
FREE Express postage in Australia.
These are perfect for Winter casting practice, so get on them.

Peter Morse wrote: 'Finally around to writing up my trip to Tassy last weekend for a launch of the new Sage R8 rods. Julianne 'Jules' and Mike Stevens of the Essential Fly Fisher in Launceston put this promotional event
together. They had arranged a shipment of a small range Sage's new flagship rods, the R8 Core series. They had, 490's, 590's and 690FB's (full butt) and these were strung up with RIO's Elite gold lines. The event was held on a small lake in the Highlands and around 40 people turned up to try the rods and to have a fish.
I gave a 690 a wiggle as soon as I'd assembled it and was immediately struck by the damping, this thing just stopped dead. All the rods were lovely to cast in the windy conditions and there were some seriously fine tight loops on display from the attendees.
My own view of the rods is that these are very "friendly" rods. in the past Sage have often been accused of making rods that are too "fast", and yet some prefer the Igniter, the stiffest rod in their line-up, and some prefer the Trout LL's, lovely medium fast fly rods. They do make an extensive range of rods.
What has happened with this new line up is that they've made a more obvious difference in stiffness between their blazingly "fast" rods, and their medium fast rods, and this is very apparent in the R8's. They fit in between these two, a little faster than "medium fast" and a lot friendlier for most than the "fast" rods.'
