All these flies are sold by the dozen and are great value. Once they are gone that's it. The Olive Parachute would be my favourite here. Grab a few while you can.
These are all online and you will find photos of all flies there too.
Once they are gone that's it.
OLIVE PARACHUTE
This is an outstanding fly for midging trout on rivers or lakes - especially the Mersey or Meander at first light or lakes such as Great Lake, Dee Lagoon and Bronte. Olive is the perfect imitation for a baetid mayfly hatch. The size 12 will work as a great nondescript fly as a dun pattern as well.
DERWENT WHITE BAIT
The Derwent White Bait is a baitfish pattern. It is ideal for fishing white baits runs for sea run trout in any estuary around Tasmania. Fishing with these around dawn an dusk on an incoming tide will usually see the most success. It is also a great fly in any lake with a good population of galaxiids, such as Tooms, Great Lake, Four Springs and others.
RED TAG PALMERED
The Red Tag is a must have for any Fly Fisher. This palmered version is great to hang a dry under because it is so buoyant, but it is also suitable to be fished as a single dry fly in smaller sizes.
SPINNER GREY SPENT
The Grey Spent Spinner is an imitation of a female mayfly that has laid her eggs on the water and is now spent floating on the water. Often grey is the most realistic colour option for spent spinners as the males are generally brighter, and the females are often lighter in colour and more transparent. Like the Blue Winged Olive it is a great fly for midging fish.
TUPS INDISPENSABLE
The Tups Indispensable is one of the most famous fly patterns still used today. It is particularly good for imitating mayflies or pale midges. This versatile fly will work on almost any river, and is a great single dry fly option.
XMAS BEETLE
The Xmas Beetle is a classic fly for Tasmania’s Highland Lakes. This pattern can be particularly successful in larger sizes on Great Lake when the fishing is tough.
BLACK COCKROACH
The Black Cockroach is a favorite for anglers in the Western Lakes with a large profile and solid black colour. A meal sure to tempt even the wisest brown trout. Also great for big hopper feeders.
JOES HOPPER
Originally known as the Michigan Hopper, Joe’s Hopper was renamed after one of its biggest fans, Joe Brooks, and it has remained one of the most popular hopper patterns since the 1940s.
FROG
Great wet fly for fishing the edges of lakes and even river. The Frog is a fantastic imitation fly representing a small frog. if you didn't know already, fish love frogs.
TADPOLE
The Tadpole is must have fly for any lake angler that enjoys sight fishing the shallows. Tadpole feeders are notoriously hard to tempt with anything except a tadpole imitation so it pays to always have a few on hand. Tadpole feeders movements will be erratic so the fly needs to sink slowly to allow the fish time to find the fly without getting caught on the bottom.
MARABOU DAMSEL
The Marabou Damsel is generally a summer pattern when fish are patrolling the weed edges. They can be successful all day. The larger sizes can also be used as a pulling fly on a sinking line during the winter months.
SLOANS GREEN NYMPH
Needs no explanation it is a fantastic small wet fly imitation.
